One of the most important parts of our life is our health. Since the existence of man being in good health has been one of the sources of happiness and joy.
The back is a vital part of human body. The reason is simple, it support the body and help us in movement. From cave men to us in this modern day world, we are always in motion. Moving around is essential to our productivity and contribution to the society.
Few years ago, I was experiencing back pain which I didn’t understand the cause. I later found out that sitting in the same position for too long in the office was the cause.
My sitting position while driving didn’t help my back either. And also my knee was suffering from commute to work through driving.
After I had a fall while running on the Malvern Hills, the back pain became even worse. The good news was the pain wasn’t anything serious that wakes me up at night or prevents me from my day to day tasks.
The back pain didn’t prevent me from my regular exercise like playing football, walkout, stretching and push ups.
Before I go further, I thought I should mention that if your back pain is as a result of any form of accident or injury my suggestion if for you to see a doctor.
Doctors usually will be able to let you know if your back pain is acute or chronic.
Acute back pain don’t last for long, it goes after days or weeks. Chronic can be serious or life threatening.
My back pain wasn’t a serious one. My fall didn’t make the back pain worse so I made decision not to see doctor.
Back pain is something that 80% of adult will experience in one shape or form at one point in their lives.
I have learnt to adopt some simple lifestyle changes that have helped me to reduce back pain.
These changes surely have worked for me. If you adopt them I believe you will see some results.
If you are able, exercise should be part of your lifestyle if you want to prevent back pain.
As mentioned above, when we used to live in Malvern Hills I was active running on the hills and around the countryside of Great Malvern town. Exercise for me is very important for health life and it surely help to avoid fatigue which doesn’t help in preventing or managing back pain.
You should always try and exercise regularly is you want to prevent back pain.
Some other type of exercise I do other than running is football. Whenever there is opportunity to walk I always take it. And like to use stairs instead of lift or elevator.
I see food from different perspective to a lot of people. Food for me is medicinal; it nourishes my body and heals me from various diseases and ailment. With this mindset, I am careful with what I eat.
